Harley J. Neuman, CPA, has served as the managing partner
of Neuman + Associates since its inception in 1991. Prior
to forming Neuman + Associates, Harley was the Senior Manager
of the Entertainment Industry division of Deloitte and Touche
(formerly Deloitte Haskins & Sells), one of the five largest
accounting firms in the world. In that capacity, he was involved
in several media buy-out transactions in the television and
radio business, worked on initial and secondary public offerings
for companies involved in motion picture production and video
distribution, and coordinated the annual tabulation of the
Grammy Awards. Harley's career began with Deloitte Haskins
& Sells in 1980. For two of the past five years, Harley has
served as the Chairman of the Entertainment Industry's most
important technical conference, attended by over 500 accountants
working in the field. A recognized leader in the field of
entertainment industry accounting, he also organized and was
actively involved in an industry wide task force which re-evaluated
the accounting methods used by producers and distributors
of motion pictures and television programming. Other members
of this "American Institute of Certified Public Accountants
Task Force" included the Chief Financial Officers of every
major studio and production company, as well as leading entertainment
industry service providers. This effort resulted in the recent
release of new accounting standards which will have a significant
effect on the way companies report their operations in the
future.
In addition to Harley Neuman, the firm currently employs
fourteen staff members, three of whom are CPA's.
